Confusion over Disturbed Tour No MoreChicago's very own alternative metal pride, Disturbed the band, is back with a vengeance!
After the release of Disturbed the band's latest album Ten Thousand Fists, the band had to cancel a lot of shows promoting that album. Frontman David Draiman had to a septo-plasty surgery because it was interfering with his breathing while performing. This surgery took place August of 2006, and was a complete success.
When asked how he took the surgery, Draiman responded that he was pleased to get it out of the way. Draiman had had his breathing problem for quite some time already. In fact, Draiman had spent a portion of 2005 consulting specialists about his condition. With the problem fixed, Draiman is excited about the prospect of making up to the band's fans for the shows that they unfortunately missed. Fans are equally anticipating Disturbed's comeback. They love every facet of their songs, even the Disturbed instrumental parts they have. These Disturbed instrumental parts are seen as essential by downright fans.
Disturbed the band's the single of Ten Thousand Fists is Land of Confusion. The track Land of Confusion Disturbed is actually a cover. Genesis, the original artist of the track, had a pop rock version of this song way back 1986. Another band that made a cover of this Genesis track is the heavy metal band In Flames from Sweden. But this cover did very well for Disturbed the band. In fact, Land of Confusion Disturbed scaled the Mainstream Rock Charts very fast, and reached #1 late October 2006. It was a great decision to make a cover of this song. The lyrics for Land of Confusion, Disturbed include, "?There's not much love to go around, Can't you see this is the land of confusion?" With lyrics like that and Disturbed's trademark heavy metal rhythm, Disturbed Land of Confusion is surely to win more fans over. The music video for Disturbed The Land of Confusion is also very interesting. The concept here was to make some sort of sequel to the video made by Genesis of the same song. This is actually a very fitting move by Disturbed the band to acknowledge the legend that is Genesis. Upon watching the Disturbed Land of Confusion video, fans became more hooked to the song.
During the shows, Disturbed won't only be performing songs from their latest album. They will also include songs from their old albums. Songs like Disturbed Down with a Sickness from their 2000 album The Sickness, and Prayer Disturbed from their 2002 album Believe will certainly be included in their performances. These two tracks ruled the top of the charts when they were released onto mainstream radio.
Down with the Sickness actually made the Disturbed Sickness album very popular among people who listened to the band for the first time. Disturbed Down with a Sickness is very catchy and full of angst regarding the issue of child abuse. The element of angst is so vivid in the last part of the song, when Draiman gets into a litany of protests against the abuse of a mother figure. Some radio networks have even opted to take out this part of the track, claiming that this is Disturbed The Sickness Disturbed music. Radio networks fear listeners might find this portion too disturbing.
Prayer Disturbed from the Believe album, on the other hand, concentrates on prayer itself. Rumor has it, Draiman is saying that this song is supposed to be a conversation he is having with God. Whatever the concept may be, Prayer Disturbed is a very powerful track from the 2002 album. Upon the release of Prayer, Disturbed fans could barely wait for the Believe album to be on shelves.
With the Disturbed shows back on track, fans are now on the rampage for Disturbed the band merchandise. From Disturbed wallpapers to Disturbed mousepads, you can find just about any sort of merchandise you prefer on websites right now.
So, make sure to mark you calendars for the coming Disturbed shows! You wouldn't want to miss any part of them. |
