Ciara the Singer Promises More Great PiecesIn the two years that Ciara has been active in the industry, she has delved into dozens upon dozens of projects. Ciara has released two studio albums, has starred in a film produced by MTV, and has started producing certain songs. And she's barely 20 years old!
Ciara was quite busy moving from one army base to another. Her father was in the United States Army, and was assigned to shifting bases. Ciara childhood was spent in different states, such as Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California. She also spent some time in Germany. During her teenage years, however, her family finally settled in Atlanta, Georgia. It was then that Ciara was exposed to the RNB group Destiny's Child. Watching Destiny's Child presenting on TV paved the way for Ciara the Singer career. Pretty soon, she began to compose songs of her own. One thing led to another, and LaFace Records signed her on for her debut album.
Goodies came out in 2004, and did very well as a debut album for the youngster. It was a gigantic success in the US, reaching sales as much as 2.6 million copies all over the country. The lead singles for this album were Goodies and 1, 2 Step. These two singles scaled the Top 5 spots at the charts of both the US and the UK. It's also a good thing that Ciara collaborated with Missy Elliott for 1, 2 Step. The track became more well-known with Elliott's persona in it.
Moreover, she received tons of Grammy nominations for her album, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and Best Short Form Music Video. Not bad for a breakout artist!
Aside from her debut album, Ciara was also busy appearing on the tracks of other artists. She was featured in Missy Elliott's Lose Control and Bow Wow's Like You. Both tracks also made it to the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
But is was in 2006 that Ciara the Grammy Best Short Form Music Video for her appearance in Missy Elliott's Lose Control. The Grammy for the Ciara music video was given on February 8, 2006. This was absolutely the greatest way 2006 could have started for the RNB princess.
Things went on an upward spiral from there. Ciara made her way into the film scene, working in the MTV film All You've Got.
Ciara also started working on her second album, Ciara: The Evolution. The track Get Up is actually meant to be just a single. But it made its way into the album nonetheless. Get Up Ciara features the rapping skills of Chamillionaire. Get Up Ciara made its way into the soundtrack for the dance film Step Up, starring Channing Tatum.
