Linkin Park Taking It Further in the Music Scene
Meet Linkin Park, the band that forged the nu metal genre. This band of six has certainly come a long way since the release of their debut album Hybrid Theory.

Interestingly, the album title was originally meant to be the name of the band. But frontman Chester Bennington came up with the name Linkin Park when he drove by Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, California. Thus, the name was born. Hybrid Theory went on to become the title of their debut album.

This debut album, released October 2000, did very well on the music charts. In fact, the album became 2001's best-selling album. The album sold 20 million copies worldwide. This is no surprise since the album has a lot of awesome tracks. Take Papercut, for example. Linkin Park Paper Cut is the first track off the debut album. The Linkin Park Paper Cut track is all about paranoia. The track did so well, even in the UK, where it reached the 14th spot on the charts there.

The second track One Step Closer also did very well. Linkin Park Closer may be the second track, but it was the band's debut single for the album. Linkin Park Closer was supposed to be titled Plaster, but the band changed this. Despite its success, it's quite ironic to note that Linkin Park Closer is Chester Bennington's least favorite song on the album.

The third track is With You, which was written by the band and The Dust Brothers, the famous track producers from Los Angeles. With You Linkin Park is one of the previous works the band did when they were still Xero. But for Hybrid Theory With You, The Dust Brothers gave the track new percussion combinations. A remix of With You Linkin Park was also made in Linkin Park Reanimation album the following year. There is also a Linkin Park Live With You track when the band performed in Texas.

Hybrid Theory - Forgotton and Linkin Park In The End are also famous in this album. Hybrid Theory - Forgotton is actually a bit different from most tracks on this album. It starts out really loud, whereas most tracks are less loud. But Linkin Park In The End is probably the most famous track on this piece ever. Linkin Park In The End is actually a poem made by Chester Bennington. The poem was given a melody, thus the birth of the track.

Linkin Park went on to make their Reanimation album. Upon its release, websites then featured Linkin Park Reanimation downloads everywhere. This brought more success for the band, which then made another album for 2003, Meteora.

This second studio album reached platinum six times! The stronger tracks include Don't Stay and Numb. Linkin Park Dont Stay is clearly a hate track right from the beginning. As loud as the track is, it's worthy of note that there is no semblance of profanity on Linkin Park Dont Stay. The track became so famous that myspace code for Linkin Park Dont Stay is now up for grabs.

Numb is also worthy of attention. This is one of the tracks wherein Mike Shinoda renders his rapping skills for a short span of time only. Linkin Park Num Encor comes about when rapper Jay-Z uses the track for his album. And this won't be the last time that the band collaborates with the rapper. Linkin Park and Jay-Z release a collaboration album, Collision Course. 99 Problems remix, Linkin Park is featured in this album. This 99 Problems remix, Linkin Park went on to become a massive success for both collaborators.

This year, the band is busy producing their 3rd studio album, which is yet to be named. Their official website is also closed for renovation. Fans will just have to log on to other websites for Linkin Park merch and media freebies.
