Green Day Strong as The Saints Are ComingGreen Day is credited to be the founders of American punk rock. Other bands that forged punk rock on American soil are Rancid and The Offspring.
The trio consists of Billie Joe Armstrong on guitar and lead vocals, Mike Dirnt on bass, and Tré Cool on drums. Their first debut album Dookie was a massive success when it came out in 1994. The album sold at least 15 million copies worldwide. Dookie featured hit tracks like Basket Case and When I Come Around. Dookie went on to win a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album for the year 1995. Pretty soon, Green Day became a household name, eventually leading to searches for Green Day lyrics, Green Day tabs, and easy guitar tabs of Green Day on the web.
The following Green Day albums were not that successful, compared to Dookie. But they were still successes in their own right. 1997's Nimrod, for starters, did pretty good for the band. The album took 10th place when it first entered the Billboard chart. The acoustic track Good Riddance off of this album contributed a lot its success. The Grouch Green Day is also off this album. Now, for all Green Day fans out there, the original title for The Grouch Green Day track was supposed to be Happy Grouch. For some reason, the band dropped "happy" from the title.
In 2000, the band released Warning. Unfortunately, this album did not do that well. In fact, it just might be the band's lowest-selling album ever. This album barely sold a million copies in America. Nevertheless, songs from the album made its way as mp3s on the web. Green Day Warning mp3 downloads are available, even to this day. These Green Day Warning mp3 tracks kept fans on a stronghold.
Lo and behold came American Idiot in 2004! Now this album had a similar taste of success as that of Dookie. The album is even hailed one of the most successful albums for the year 2005! It also won the Grammy for Best Rock album of 2005! The band is definitely back!
Green Day-Bulivard of Broken Dreams, the second single off the album, was a massive hit. Upon its release, Green Day-Bulivard of Broken Dreams scaled the charts with a peak stay at number 2. Green Day-Bulivard of Broken Dreams remains to be the band's unbeaten single ever.
Homecoming Green Day is also off the American Idiot album. Homecoming Green Day is one of the two Rock Opera songs made by the band. Homecoming Green Day is composed of 5 parts, and lasts more than 9 minutes.
The album is such a success that additional versions of it were made. But the widespread version is the one that features the bonus track Too Much Too Soon Green Day. Too Much Too Soon Green Day is just one of the bonus tracks off the album.
In 2006, Green Day collaborated with the Irish success U2, to make a cover of the song The Saints Are Coming, by The Skids. The Saints Are Coming Green Day and U2 are attempts to obtain funds for the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe. This is quite appropriate because The Saints Are Coming Green Day and U2 lyrics mention storms and the act of drowning. The Saints Are Coming U2 Green Day was performed live before a football game between New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. The proceeds of the performance of The Saints Are Coming Green Day U2 were going to U2's very own charity, The Edge. The Saints Are Coming Green Day and U2 was also nominated for Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group With Vocal in the 2006 Grammy Awards. The Saints Are Coming Green Day was such a powerful track that it was made available for download from the web right away. Check out Real Rhapsody to download U2 and Green Day mp3. There are also other websites that feature U2 Green Day mp3 that is very much in demand today.
Green Day is definitely one of the strongholds of the punk rock genre. And this band surely has something up its sleeve in the months to come. |
