Evanescence Hangs on with Calgary ConcertJanuary 15, 2007 marked a historic moment for Evanescence the Band. The concert they had on that fateful day marked success for the band. This is despite the negative things that have happened to Evanescence the Band in the past months.
Want a list of these negative events? First off would be the controversy involving the band belonging to the Christian rock genre. Evanescence the Band was coined to be a Christian rock band, despite the gothic image the members have always upheld. This presumably led to the departure of Ben Moody, one of the band's founders and Lee's former boyfriend.
Moody was quoted to have cited artistic differences for his departure from the band. Lee later revealed that Moody did not like the attention she was getting from the Evanescence Free Piano Music Sheet downloads that featured her. Apparently, Moody did not want Lee to be playing the piano because it stole too much attention from him.
Moody's first and last album with Evanescence was Fallen, back in 2003. Moody had helped create the strong tracks that made Evanescence the household name that it is now. These tracks are Bring Me to Life, Going Under- feat. Evanescence, and the mighty My Immortal. The lead single Bring Me to Life scaled the charts so fast, that a bliss mix evanescence track of it quickly came out. Going Under- feat. Evanescence track also did very well, even in Canada and in the UK. But My Immortal just took fans by storm! The track became so famous that Piano Notes to My Immortal by Evanescence became available on the web not long after the track came out!
But this success did not prevent a couple of lawsuits involving the band and songstress Amy Lee herself from happening. A branch of Wal-Mart was sued over the song lyrics found on one of the band's albums. Apparently, the CD did not have a 'Parental Advisory' sticker on it, and some parents wanted refunds for the seeming 'deceit' on Wal-Mart's part. Although Evanescence the Band was not directly involved in the suit, it was still bad publicity for the band, as a whole.
On December 2005, just days before Amy Lee's Birthday Evanescence, the Goth diva filed a lawsuit against onetime manager Dennis Rider. Interestingly, this lawsuit was already a counter to a breach of contract suit Rider had filed against Lee. Lee countered with a sexual harassment suit, stating that Rider had been giving off unwanted sexual innuendos towards Lee.
Whoever said that bad luck comes in three's is definitely wrong. Aside from these, guitarist and co-writer Terry Balsamo suffered a stroke during the production of 2006's The Open Door. Not to worry though, since he has made a full recovery already.
Somehow, the band turned everything around, and pushed for the success of The Open Door. The 1st track off the band's 2nd album is call me when your sober evanescence. The call me when your sober evanescence track was released on September 2006. But evanescence call me when your sober mp3 was officially released about a month before, for digital download. Sadly, evanescence call me when your sober mp3 was somehow released on the web before its official appearance on iTunes. Nonetheless, evanescence call me mp3 remained a strong digital track for the band.
On a more intriguing note, evanescence call me when your sober is a personal track for Lee. This is because evanescence call me when your sober is about her experience with an ex who had to go into rehab. This piece of history earner more digital downloads for evanescence call me mp3 tracks.
All these, and the band still pushed through with their concert in Calgary last January 15, 2007. The band's performance was very inspiring, considering all the things they've been through. Even guitarist Balsamo tried hard not to let his physical condition hamper his performance. It was truly a pleasure for the people who made it a point to get evanescence calgary tickets. Now that was one display of dedication and integrity. |
