The band Blink 182 got international fame from their third album Enema of the State. This was their mainstream breakthrough and from this record came out hits blink 182 whats my age again, All the Small Things and blink 182 adams song. The videos to these singles also gained world wide success and recognition as it contained boy band spoofs and one even contained the members running in the streets in the nude.

The single blink 182 whats my age again, which was originally titled Peter Pan Complex, reached the top 10 in the charts and the video also received equal popularity. While this song featured the band's humorous side, the single from blink 182 adams song was more on the serious side, which touched on the subject of suicide.

Another song that was a serious hit touched the subject of divorce and this was Stay together For the Kids. It came from the album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket which was released in 2001. This also spawned the single blink 182 rockshow which peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts.

Then in 2003, their 5th album was released. This peaked at #1 on the US charts and contained the hit blink 182 i miss you. This single stayed #1 for two weeks on the charts and this enabled the album to hit platinum after selling over 200,000 copies.

During this time, the band had already become so known worldwide that blink 182 bits and pieces were heavily sought for. These included free blink 182 mp3s and blink 182 autographed items.

But in 2005, Blink 182 announced an indefinite hiatus for the band. This was reportedly so the group members could spend much more time with their "growing families" but rumors had surfaced of a supposed conflict between band members. Reports though of the band's future reunion has neither been confirmed nor denied.

Although the band decided for this open-ended break, the fans though have not been left in the dark as hopes of seeing the members of the band and for their icon playing music is still possible.

Other musical endeavors have been made by the band members. Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker have joined to form the band +44, which connotes to the international area code for United Kingdom. Tom DeLonge on the other hand formed Angels & Airwaves which he claims is the "greatest rock and roll revolution ever."

Some of the members also have been busy with their clothing lines. Mark with his fashion venture Atticus and Tom with Macbeth, a lifestyle clothing company. While Travis was busy also with his clothing company, Famous Stars and Straps.

Family matters have also kept some of them busy. An addition into the family of the DeLonges with their second child, Jonas Rocket has kept the blink 182 singer-guitarist busy alongside Angels & Airwaves. Unfortunately though for the blink 182 drummer, a divorce was what was keeping Travis busy from his life aside from the music he is creating with band +44.

Both these bands had already released singles and albums though these were not that widely accepted around the globe. Tom's band released on May last year their album We Don't Need To Whisper and Mark and Travis followed up on November with their album When Your Heart Stops Beating.

Despite the break from the band, the guys still continue making music much to the appreciation of their fans and a new batch of following. But aside from this, many things still keep them busy. These being spending time with their family, as what supposedly produced the hiatus and their business ventures.
