R&B Mogul Usher Garners Success with ConfessionsBelieve it or not, a lot of fans have Usher?s name literally tattooed on their bodies! This Usher?s star tattoo matter really says something about Usher?s status in the R&B industry. Yup, The Lone Star State has contributed a lot of things to the world. And the award-winning R&B mogul Usher Raymond IV is indeed one incredible contribution.
Usher has long been interested in music. In fact, Listening to Pop Music Usher led him to become part of a church choir. He also started participating in music talent shows, which won him a lot of prizes. But when he was just 13 years old, he caught the eye of a scout working for LaFace Records. An audition with L.A. Reid soon followed. And in 1993, Usher signed his first recording track with LaFace. It was then that the artist had to kiss his church usher shoes goodbye for good.
His first track ever, ?Call Me a Mack?, was featured in the film Poetic Justice. And a year after he signed his contract, he released his self-titled debut album. The album was not welcomed that well. Most critics found the lyrics of the songs too ?adult? for the artist, who was just 16 years old at the time.
His sophomore album in 1997, My Way, gained more acceptance both locally and internationally. The hit track You Make Me Wanna garnered the top spot in the US and the UK charts. Selling more than 8 million copies in the international market, Usher certainly did better this time around.
And if you have been Listening to Pop Music Usher, you will definitely say that he has been improving since that album. His 3rd installment, 8701, garnered more sales for the artist. The title of the album is connected to the span of Usher?s career. It is also related to the date of its release, which is August 7, 2001. This time around, Usher was with Arista Records, with Jermaine Dupri as one of his producers.
The 2nd single in particular, usher got it bad, took the #1 spot easily after its release on September 2001. It did drop off the charts before the year ended, but came right on back in January 2002. You got it bad usher proceeded to stay another 5 weeks on the #1 spot.
Usher?s next album, Confessions, came out in 2004. To date, this is his most successful album, garnering 14 million in sales worldwide. The album sold 1.1 million copies in its first week alone.
Usher Yeah Confessions is the 1st track off this album. Usher Yeah Confessions features rappers Lil Jon and Ludacris. Yeah by Usher was nominated ?Record of the Year? in the 2005 Grammy Awards, but failed to bag it. But Yeah by Usher still won the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
And what a video to go with it! Truly, this is one of the most fun videos Usher has ever made. If you Watch All Usher Videos, you will know that his dance skills are shown off in all of them very well. Well, the yeah video by usher is laden with dance moves from start ?til end! The yeah video by usher includes appearances by the featured rappers themselves. And, a little piece of trivia for you guys: Chingy, a protégé of Ludacris, also appears in the last part of the yeah video by usher.
Another great video from the Watch All Usher Videos collection would be Burn, still from the 4th album. Usher Lyrics Burn are pretty strong, talking about letting a relationship ?burn down? because the love is not there anymore. Burn also took the US Billboard Hot 100 chart by storm.
But in 2005, a controversy circled Usher in pop land. Karrine Steffans released Confessions of a Video Vixen, a memoir of sorts detailing her sexual liaisons with artists in the industry. The lengthy list of lovers supposedly includes Usher. The video vixen and usher incident made tabloids run amuck. However, the video vixen and usher was not enough to affect Usher?s status in the industry.
Still, you can?t help but wonder just how true these speculations are. With the many Gallery of Usher Raymond showing off Usher in His Underwear, you just can?t help but wonder, right? Still, to each his own on this.
Currently, Usher is busy preparing his 5th installment, The Untold Story, scheduled for release this fall. Y?all can also prepare for this by brushing up on Lyrics for Usher Raymond on Usher?s page here on MyLyricsCentral.com. Usher will surely be worth the wait.
