Korn, acclaimed as the founder of the nu metal genre and the pioneer in creating a new wave of sound combining all sorts from alternative to rock, has played a major influence in some of the great bands that followed thereafter.
The famous goth-rock band from Little Rock, Evanescence cites Korn's Untouchables Korn forsaken queen of the damned mp3 as one of Amy Lee's all-time favorite albums. Meanwhile, Korn's name and Korn pictures 1 are tattoed on Rocky Gray?s neck to show his appreciation of the band.

Korn began their existence as the metal band known as LAPD from Bakersfield, California. The group was composed of guitarists James Shaffer and Brian Welch, bassist Reginald Arvizu, and David Silveria on drums.
After issuing an LP, the members of LAPD in 1993 crossed paths with Jonathan Davis, who was then the lead vocalist for the local group Sexart. They soon asked Davis to join the band, and upon his arrival, the quintet renamed itself Korn.
Since their 1994 self-titled album, Korn has been tagged as one of the best metal group of the last thirteen years, which sold over 25 million records worldwide, including 16 million in the United States alone.
All of Korn?s seven albums have reached the platinum level. The band is currently working on its eighth album and whether or not it reaches the same success as their previous album, well that's remains to be seen.
Korn has so far won 2 Grammy awards out of six nominations.
Tentatively slated for release in June 2007, Korn's next masterpiece is another work of art with Aticus Ross and The Matrix, who also worked with the band in See You in the Other Side.
As of press time, Korn has picked Terry Bozzio filling in for David Silveria as the latter momentarily goes on hiatus. The group has also took the services of Zac Baird, who then joined Korn in most if not all of their gigs in 2006 taking care of the group's keyboards.
