Blink 182 Disbands in the Guise of Hiatus

Blink 182 fanatics out there, well looks like the band is not really taking an "indefinite hiatus" but has rather totally dispersed through thin air and reincarnated into new formations we now call Angels & Airwaves and +44.

With all the reasons unveiled behind the group's so-called "break," the truth of conflicts within the band have surfaced and chances of putting back the pieces are somewhat unlikely considering Blink 182 members have already formed separate groups to be part of.

Blink 182 announced an "indefinite hiatus" after a canceled performance at the Music for Relief Concert for South Asia, February of 2005.

Their record label Geffen Records, however, released a greatest hits compilation and Blink 182 autographed items and free Blink 182 mp3s with the hopes of keeping Blink 182's fan base intact.

The album included an unreleased single "Another Girl Another Planet," which has been used as the soundtrack for Travis Barker's new reality TV show dubbed the "Meet the Barkers."

The Greatest Hits compilation also includes Blink 182 i miss you from B-Side and from the group's Untitled Album "Not Now".

Ranking number six at the Billboard 200 proves Blink 182's following has not crashed down with Blink 182. But with the band members at odds and seemingly irreconcilable, the fan base will soon eventually vanish along with the memories of the group.

Angels and Airwaves, Tom DeLonge's new band, came into action barely three weeks after Blink 182 announced their much needed "pause" from the limelight. Hiatus you say? Well, coming back up the industry surface with a new band doesn't seem so "hiatus" to me, but rather a total breakup.

Cementing that observation is when Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker came up with their own act aptly called +44.

Well, when nothing's been said but something blatantly done to confirm the breakup, DeLonge broke his silence and bared the reason behind the Blink 182 "hiatus."

DeLonge said his constant prodding to take a break to be with his family created a tension between him and Hoppus. Hoppus and Barker on the other hand, pinpointed DeLonge's burgeoning unwillingness to perform as the cause of the band's demise.

Angels and Airwaves kicked off with their first album "We Don't Need to Whisper" mid-year of last year debuting at the 4th spot of Billboard 200. The group then toured with Taking Back Sunday summer of last year.

On the other hand, Barker and Hoppus' new band +44 came up with the song "No It Isn't", which was leaked in time for DeLonge's birthday.

Hoppus said the song was hesitant at first to confirm that the song was something about the band's end but later admitted that it was indeed about DeLonge and the band's breakup.

When Your Heart Stops Beating is +44's first album released on November 14, 2006 days before Blink 182 christmas.

Contrary to what DeLonge has said on the band's breakup, Hoppus said everything went well during the recording of their last album, however, tensions heightened when DeLonged wanted to take a break from touring just as the band has already mapped out a US tour. The tour, which was supposed to feature Blink 182 acoustic was eventually cancelled due to DeLonge's constant prodding to be with his family.

Well, the only thing constant in this world is change, let's just say Blink 182 rockshow succumbed to change and sought for a new beginning. Blink 182 miss you.

The best selling album of the band was cover model Blink 182 enema of the state which included famous tracks Blink 182 party song "All the Small Things," Blink 182 whats my age again, and Blink 182 adams song. The Blink 182 dog also released Blink 182 i wont be home for christmas.
