This is it! Omarion is officially a hit-maker! His latest single, Ice Box, was released late 2006. But it has captured the fancy of a lot of fans worldwide in the short time that it has been released!

Don't get me wrong. Omarion is definitely not a newcomer to making hits. In fact, he has been in the business since 2001. And you may probably know him better as the frontman of the successful trio, B2K. But the trio decided to disband after releasing their 3rd installment. And a year after that, Omarion embarked on his journey as a solo artist.

It has not been easy, you know. Omarion's debut album O was not as successful as expected. Despite the positive reviews it received from a few critics, these just wasn't enough for the album to enter the ring of musical success. The album's debut at the #1 spot on the Billboard charts was even very short-lived. And this was a bit disappointing because the tracks on the album did receive a lot of airplay! Tracks off the album, such as O and Touch even garnered a lot of positive reviews. But these reviews and huge periods of airplay were just not enough for the album to hit the mark. That's just the way it is in the music business sometimes, so to speak.

But Omarion made up for all that failure with his collaborative track with fellow rapper and close friend, Bow Wow, Let Me Hold You. The collaboration provided Omarion his first taste of Top 10 success as a solo artist. But Omarion did not stop there. His craving to make up for the commercial failure that is his debut album was so strong that he developed his killer sophomore album, 21. 21 also debuted on the Billboard charts at the #1 spot. And, so far, the album has been more successful than its predecessor.

The debut single Entourage didn't do that well though. The highest Entourage reached was the 26th spot on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. And it did worse on the UK charts. Nonetheless, its fame was funneled by the remix made, which featured rapper 50 Cent.

And then came Ice Box, produced by rap mogul Timbaland. Ice Box is quite a leap from the previous tracks made by Omarion. Released early March of 2007, Ice Box is laden with the obvious influence of Prince. And this track provided a number of firsts for Omarion. With Ice Box, Omarion was able to make it into the Top 20 of the Billboard charts on his own for the first time. Also, Omarion makes quite a leap from the poppy tracks y'all have been used to listening, in terms of lyrical content and musical arrangement.

Ice Box talks about how Omarion is dealing with a failing relationship. The lyrics have quite a serious nature, compared to the past tracks he has done both as a solo artist and with B2K. The term "ice box" is used as a metaphor in this song.

The lyrics appealed to a lot of fans worldwide. It has even been termed as the perfect breakup song! Yep, Ice Box has definitely gathered a lot of fans under its wing. Most likely because a lot of people can relate to its lyrics. The success of Ice Box led to a lot of remixes of it. In fact, 16 remix versions have been made of it! Usher is featured in one of the more successful versions of the track.

So, since the track is about a failed relationship, have you ever wondered if Omarion has a girlfriend of his own? Well, y'all ladies should be pleased to know that the rapper is still waiting for the right girl to come along. So, any introductory plans, anyone?
