There's definitely something about summer when it comes to Ciara's album releases. Summer of 2004 spells Ciara Goodies while summer of 2006 ushered in "Ciara: The Evolution" and what's up for summer of 2007? Well, that remains to be seen.
Starting off in the music scene with a summer hit in 2004, Ciara has evolved from the "Goodies" hip hop artist into a full blown versatile shining star.
A native of Austin, Texas, Ciara Princess Harris has grown into a multifaceted artist worthy of Grammy recognition.
Ciara, for those who knew little of this fast rising star, has earned accolades as a dancer, singer, songwriter, and record producer from the biggies in the industry.
To prove it all, Ciara's debut album Goodies, which was released on September of 2004, earned the young artist various nominations and awards selling over 2.6 million Ciara mp3s in America and over three million copies around the globe.
Unlike many other rising artists, Ciara's lyrics are obviously more effective in delivering the message of her songs as she wrote most of it. Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that conveying one's own message is a mile different from delivering the message of others.
Now, apparently Goodies treaded the limelight quite swiftly becoming a commercial success that is highly buoyed by a marketing factor that goes beyond mere packaging.
Although its international release was not as hyped, Ciara's singles including Goodies, Ciara 1 2 Step, and Ciara's Oh were regarded as global hits having reached the top spots of the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom and in other countries.
However, Ciara's And I single was not as successful as the first three singles having only managed to peak at the 96th spot of the Billboard Hot 100.
After the singles charted, Ciara then released Goodies: The Videos & More, which is a compilation of commentaries on Goodies, Ciara music videos, and documentaries all packed in one DVD.
Aside from her own success, well partly due to her inevitable fame, other hip hop artists like Bow Wow and Missy Elliott wanted a share of the cake, hence featured music artist Ciara in one of their hit singles such as Missy's "Lose Control" and the Bow Wow and Ciara single "Like You." And for reasons undisclosed, both singles peaked at the third highest rank on the Billboard Hot 100. Oh well, thanks to the Ciara appeal.
Not only that, Gwen Stefani jumped into the Ciara bandwagon as well and tugged her along on her Harajuku Lovers Tour, which included performances in America's top cities, the likes of Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York.
With all that, I guess Ciara is up for the big thing and yes indeed, what's more exhilarating than to be nominated in the Grammies for Best New Artist, Best Rap Song and Best Short Form Music Video for "Lose Control" and Best Rap/Song Collaboration for "1,2 Step" ?
To keep up with the momentum, Ciara released late last year her follow-up album aptly dubbed as Ciara: The Evolution. Expectedly, the evolution album surpassed the success of Goodies by over 213,000 copies selling 338,000 copies upon its release.
Ciara's the evolution album debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart carrying two singles on the Top 20.
Although released a little bit later, Ciara: The Evolution was fully completed in the summer of 2006, following the release of Ciara Get Up. Ciara - get up single features Chamillionaire. Get Up Ciara is the soundtrack of Step Up the movie.
The Evolution album featured hit makers Rodney Jerkins, Pharrell, Will.i.am, Bryan Michael Cox, and Ciara's music soul mate Jazze Pha.
The album's hit singles include the Promise and Like A Boy of Ciara. Both Ciara's Promise and Ciara's Like a boy were released as first singles for the US and Eurasia, respectively.
The Promise of Ciara is so far her highest debut on the Billboard charts. R.Kelly is featured on the remix of Ciara's Promise single.
The Evolution, as the title connotes, showcases Ciara's growth in the entertainment industry and how the snapping klieg lights and the limelight molded her into one of today's well rounded artists.
And as if that level of fame isn't enough, Ciara the singer now tries her toes on acting debuting on MTV Films production's All You've Got.
But more than ever Ciara promised her music will always carry a worthy message as promised ever since Ciara started.
