The Next Pussycat Doll in Double Trouble

Who's gonna be the next doll? It gets more exciting as the reality TV series Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll inches closer to its finale.

From 18 burlesque doll wannabes, it's now down to the final three but only one will achieve her dream of becoming a full-fledged member of the world renowned Pussycat Dolls.

As the competition heats up, two of the remaining girls engaged in a catfight as to who is better and worthy to be the next doll, but hey wait, lest they forget they are not the judges here, as Nicole of Pussycat Dolls puts it, these girls are here to prove their worth to be the next Pussycat Doll and a catfight won't put them there.

The judges, who hold the biggest decision to pick among the three, the next Pussycat Doll includes PCD founder Robin Antin, Lil' Kim, and Geffen Records Chairman Ron Fair.

The TV series, which premiered last month but started only airing in other countries on April 1, will run for eight long weeks wherein the contestants are tasked to perform in groups the tracks of The Pussycat Dolls and songs of other chosen artists.

A contender will be eliminated in every episode as judged according to their performance and people skills.

Along the way as the series goes, the contestants will undergo a Pussycat makeover and will be judged by their vocal and dancing abilities among other factors to be considered in finding the best among the 18 to be the next Pussycat Doll.

The ultimate winner will join The Pussycat Dolls as the group's seventh member and will be featured in the second studio album of the dolls entitled Double Trouble.

Most of The Pussycat Dolls songs to be performed by the contestants in the reality show are taken from the debut album of the Pussycat Dolls including Don't Cha, which became the doll's first hit track, the Pussycat Dolls first Billboard number one Stickwitu, and other chart toppers of Pussycat Dolls Beep and Buttons.

PCD's I Don't Need A Man as well as Wait a Minute will also be featured in the succeeding episodes. Tracks by Beyonce, Ciara, Rihanna, and Mary J.Blige are also lined up for upcoming contest pieces of the contenders.

The original Pussycat Dolls started as a burlesque dance troupe that was founded by choreographer Robin Antin.

The group evolved into a first class burlesque act performing alongside A-List guest celebrities with Carmen Electra as the lead performer in several Pussycat Doll shows that spanned for two years.

Other guest celebrities who donned the lingerie and pin-up costumes to become one of the Pussycat Dolls for a show include Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Kelly Osbourne, Pamela Anderson and a long list of celebrities that were dolls wannabes.

In 2003, reality TV Popstar winner Nicole Scherzinger (of the group Eden's Crush) joining the Pussycat Dolls as the lead vocalist. The current lineup is composed of Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, and Melody Thornton.

The Pussycat Dolls released their first single Sway from the film Shall We Dance?, which also paved for the group's first music video.

PCD, The Pussycat Dolls debut album, which showcased Pussycat Doll sexy pictures in the package, was released in 2005 debuting at number five of the Billboard 200.

The Pussycat Dolls mp3 spawned seven major hits and was eventually nominated for Top-Selling Dance Single of the Year and Top-Selling Single of the Year. Pussycat Dolls Don't Cha also earned the group a Billboard Music Award as Hot Dance Music/Club Play Single of the Year.

Nicole has already written the lyrics for 12 new tracks for the second album of the Pussycat Dolls, which will be released later this year.

Aside from collaborative tracks with Christina Aguilera and Lil' Kim, the Double Trouble album of the Pussycat Dolls will also feature the seventh member of the Dolls, who remains to be known as the reality search for the next doll nears its end.
