Does Maroon 5 Makes You Wonder?

A couple of years back, Maroon 5 fans were treated to the catchy tunes of This Love and She Will Be Loved and now the band returns with another smash hit entitled Makes Me Wonder.

But before that, let's dwell into how a lot of people wondered why this seemed-to-be-rookie band burst into the music scene with ready hits that almost immediately rounded up a solid fan base?

Unknown to many, Maroon 5 were not instant superstars, in fact it took quite a long time for their first single to take off and almost a decade for the band to finally carve their name into the rolls of today's acclaimed musicians.

Jesse Carmichael, Michael Madden, Ryan Dusick and Adam Levine formed Kara's Flowers in 1994. Although the group was able to release an album with Reprise Records entitled The Fourth World, their careers went nowhere and their music was unheard of at the charts game.

The group disbanded and went their separate ways only to reunite three years later with James Valentine as a fresh addition to the lineup now known as Maroon 5.

Taking their chances with an upstart label known as Octone Records, Maroon 5 came up with their second album Songs About Jane in 2001.

However, the Maroon 5 mp3 was only released mid-year 2002 and it was not until the release of the second single This Love that Maroon 5 really started moving up.

The first single from the Songs About Jane album, Harder to Breathe failed to peak at the top of the charts, however managed to get to the 31st spot of the Modern Rock chart.

Maroon 5 did not see it coming but surprisingly the second single This Love as well the third single She Will Be Loved both peaked at the top spot in the United States propelling Maroon 5 album sales way past the 2 million mark.

But hitting such success was no piece of cake for the guys. The effort Maroon 5 poured into promoting the album spanned for four years and the whole time they were cramming for hundreds of shows in a year enduring the stress in world tours, radio tours, promotional gigs, and anything to shot up to fame.

Songs About Jane also carried equally hit singles Sunday Morning, Must Get Out, Shiver, Secret, and The Sun, among others.

Maroon 5 also released an acoustic album entitled 1.22.03.Acoustic, which contains acoustic versions of their hit tracks from Songs About Jane and two cover songs Of AC/DC and The Beatles.

1.22.03.Acoustic got its name from the date it was recorded at the Hit Factory in New York. The acoustic package contains lyrics and Maroon 5 guitar chords.

With all the work put into promotion, Maroon 5 became a certified group to reckon with raking in sales of over 4.3 million copies in the US alone.

But humans as they are Maroon 5 reached exhaustion and felt it was time to lay low and move on.

The series of excessive performing caused a hand-injury to drummer Dusick, who decided to leave the band for good, as he never really recovered from the injury. Matt Flynn took over his place.

Maroon 5 rested for a month and by October 2005, the members regrouped at Rick Rubin's mansion to work on their new material.

After some thorough studio sessions with a handful of producers, Maroon 5 is finally releasing their follow up album "It Won't Be Soon Before Too Long" this year.

The new Maroon 5 album covers new different musical touches however, the new style won't be drastically different from the Maroon 5 album it succeeded.

Before the album's release slated in May, its lead single Makes Me Wonder is already rolling the red carpet for the return of Maroon 5 as the single kicks off a promising start at number 15 of the Adult Top 40 chart.

However, the new Maroon 5 album might have a Parental Guidance sticker on it due to some explicit lyrics.
